This year our professional is Siviwe Gidana. Sivwe is an experienced first class cricketer having played first class cricket with Eastern Province in Souith Africa since 2008. Sivwe is currently bowling coach at Eastern Province and considered a bit of a legent in the area. We thought we’d ask him a few questions to learn a bit more about what makes him tick.
Do you have any brothers/ sisters ?
Yes I’m the youngest of 5. 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Have you been to England before and if so, where ?
Yes, I’ve played a few seasons in England at Desborough, Tickhill, Padiham and Havant & Rotherham
And what were your best bowling figures ?
8 for 13 for Padiham in the Lancs league in 2018
Who’s your favourite cricketer ?
Malcolm Marshall ( been told I have a similar action to his)
Where would you most like to visit in England ?
Old Trafford football stadium on matchday. I’m a big Man Utd fan
What’s your favourite thing to do outside of cricket?
Having a braai with mates
Favourite drink ?
An ice cold pint of Stella Artois or San Miguel
Favourite musical artist ?
Favourite artist is Lauryn Hill ( I’m into old school soulful RnB)
