Welcome to Barby Cricket Club.

Barby Cricket Club is a friendly, family orientated club on the border of Warwickshire and Northamptonshire between Daventry and Rugby.

Our aim is to provide Cricket for as many people as possible. Young, Old, Male, Female, whether you are starting out, coming back to the game or just fancy coming along to watch and have a drink in the bar.

We have three Saturday Teams playing in Division 1 and Division 7 of the Warwickshire County Cricket League and Division 11 of the Northamptonshire Cricket League. We also have a side in Division 1 of the Rugby & District Midweek Cricket League which plays on a Wednesday evening. On Sunday's we play regular friendly Fixtures.

We run Youth teams for Under 11's and Under 13's age groups and All Stars and Dynamos Cricket from age 5 upwards. Our Ladies Tip & Run side plays Monday evenings during the summer.

Welcome from our Chairman

As you know the last 2 years have been tough as we have battled through the Covid pandemic. The last 2 years never really felt right as we played with hand sanitizing and no teas. I for one am very pleased that we will be enjoying teas this year and I’m also glad that we won’t be playing ‘pyjama cricket’ given their somewhat tight fit!

I’d like to thank everyone who hung in there and got us through. A special thanks to my predecessor Tom Gleghorn. I’ve always said being Chairman while still playing is a 2 year job so to do 4 and see us through Covid is above and beyond.

Thanks in fact to all our volunteers! To bar staff, coaches, groundsmen, parking attendants, cleaners, tea makers… we can’t do it without you. If anyone reading this wants to get involved in any way please just let us know. You will be very welcome!

This year we want to be special. We are keen to continue to build our junior section and get as many girls and boys as possible enjoying the game. We feel very fortunate to welcome Mal Loye on board as our first Director of cricket. Mal’s has already made a huge difference to many of us over the winter. We also welcome South African seamer Siviwe Gidana to the club as our professional. Between Siviwe and Mal our coaching credentials are second to none.

We will be organising events throughout the season and we hope that you will enjoy getting involved. We want everyone to enjoy being at the club. Whether playing, watching or just coming to the bar. We want Barby CC to be the place to be.
